Digital Fabrication

Digital fabrication

Digital fabrication technologies help students learn new techniques and fabrication approaches that can open new doors for 2D & 3D processes.

The Department of Art and Art History offers a number of digital fabrication tools including seven 3D printers, 3D scanning, a 5’x5’ CNC router, CNC plasma cutter, two laser cutters, 24” vinyl cutter, and VR headset. In order to access these resources, students must be currently enrolled in an AAH class, working on coursework, and (for laser cutter/CNC router use) make an appointment online. Most of these tools reside in our Digital Fabrication Lab, room 279 on the second floor of the VAC. To see the Digital Fabrication Lab hours, or schedule a laser appointment, click the links below. If time is not available on one laser, be sure to check the other’s availability, but do not book both at the same time or both your appointments will be canceled.
