This fall, 91ɫ��’s Buff Bus system is rolling out a major update designed to make campus transit more efficient, flexible and accessible for all riders.

On Oct. 1, the Marine Street Express will be replaced by a new on-demand transit service powered by Via. This service will allow riders to request rides between eight designated stops across campus using a new mobile app (coming soon). Riders will be able to select their pickup and drop-off locations, choose a departure time (ASAP or scheduled) and receive real-time wait estimates.

Stops

Stops will include:

Euclid Avenue and 18th Street (across from the CASE building)
C4C westbound (Regent Drive, south side of the Center for Community)
C4C eastbound (Regent Drive, across from the Center for Community)
Regent at Lot 436 (Regent Drive, across from the engineering building)
Marine Street Science Center (3394 Marine St.)
OIT (East Campus Computing Center) 3760 Marine St.)
CINC (Center for Innovation and Creativity) (1777 Exposition Drive)
Distribution Center and 91ɫ�� Surplus Store (3300 Walnut St.)

This new service is ADA accessible and designed to offer broader coverage to our East Campus locations than the current fixed-route system.

Why it matters

These changes are part of 91ɫ��’s ongoing commitment to smarter, more sustainable campus mobility. The new on-demand model:

Reduces per-boarding costs
Increases rider flexibility
Supports accessibility with ADA-compliant vehicles
Aligns with sustainability goals through EV integration

What to expect

QR codes will be posted at stops for easy app access.
Buff Ride stickers on the sides of the Via vehicles will help riders identify Buff Ride vehicles.
Transit app and campus map updates soon will reflect the new service.
Internal communications will be sent to building proctors and departments along the Marine Street corridor.

In addition to these changes, updates to the Williams Village route are posted online. The Stampede and Bear Creek Express routes remain unchanged.

The Office of Faculty Affairs and Human Resources are pleased to announce the newest 91ɫ�� fellows selected for the CU Excellence in Leadership Program (ELP), hosted by the CU system Employee Services office. Now in its 25th year, the program brings together high-performing faculty and staff from across the four CU campuses and system office to enhance their leadership potential.

Over the coming academic year, these fellows will take part in monthly sessions with senior campus leaders and with the broader ELP cohort. Through these experiences, they will gain greater understanding of how CU functions as an organization, build community with other campus leaders and improve their leadership capabilities within our diverse university environment.

More than 200 91ɫ�� faculty and staff have taken part in this esteemed program, made possible through the support of the provost and the senior vice chancellor for operations. Merinda McLure, faculty director of academic leadership development in the Office of Faculty Affairs, and Kristin Martina, organizational development consultant with Campus Human Resources, serve as 91ɫ�� liaisons for the ELP.

Reflecting on her experience as a 2024–25 fellow, dean and vice provost of undergraduate education Erika Randall shared:

“ELP was more than a leadership program—it was an affirmation of commitment to the bigger picture of my work—to create community, to support students, to maximize my personal capacity and to embrace gratitude, recognition, clarity and joy as tools for team capacity building. Most importantly, it placed myself among and within a constellation of brilliant and diverse humans and leaders, learning from one another as we challenged ourselves to stay playful and committed to caring for staff, faculty, students and ourselves.”

Building on that perspective, McLure added:

“The ELP provides fellows with a unique opportunity to forge relationships with peers and senior leaders across our CU institutions. Participants consistently share how the program broadens their understanding of the CU system as a whole and underscores the impact of strong leadership on the success of each campus.”

These reflections highlight the value of the Excellence in Leadership Program and set high expectations for the incoming 2025–26 cohort, who are poised to build on their leadership skills to make a greater impact at 91ɫ��.

Ink Spot, the campus printing center located at the University Memorial Center, has launched a new online ordering website. According to Brad Lenhart, Imaging Services manager, the new online interface is more user friendly, featuring an up-to-date online ordering option for students, staff and faculty.

Features include:

Online ordering—easily place print orders from your computer or phone.
Instant quotes—get instant quotes online without filling out forms.
Easy re-orders—order reprints in a few simple clicks.
Improved communication—receive automated email notifications when your job is submitted and when it’s ready to ship/pick up. Invoices are sent automatically.

Speaking about these changes, Lenhart said, “The Ink Spot has always been dedicated to the success of CU and its people. We’re excited to provide improved services that bring value to our customers today and into the future.”

The new online store is ready to use. Short, informative training sessions will be offered throughout the semester via Zoom.
