SarahÌýserves as the Director of the Center for Translational Research, a campus-wide resource supporting both existing and aspiring university-originated startups. The center specializes in helping these ventures secure non-dilutive funding to translate university inventions into viable startup companies.

Previously, Sarah served as Chief of Staff for the CHIPS Metrology Program and worked in the Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) division at the , part of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Her contributions were twice recognized with an award honoring outstanding achievements in building or strengthening NIST’s extramural programs that promote U.S. competitiveness and business excellence.

Before her tenure at NIST, Sarah spent five years at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), where she supported entrepreneurs, small businesses and innovation programs through various roles in both Colorado and Washington, D.C. Sarah holds a Master of Public Affairs from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA)—now the O'Neill School—at Indiana University and a Bachelor of Arts from DePauw University.
